New Ultrasound Machines

Big thanks to the WRHNF and the ED leadership for securing the purchase of our new Sonosite US machines. They're a big upgrade from our old machines and available in both departments β€” currently being stored in the resus rooms at each site.

New Tonopen @ Queen's

FYI β€” we have now purchased the iCare Tonopen at Queen's, the same as the one available at Midtown.

Health Care Connect

FYI β€” patients without a family doctor can sign up on this provincial website and be connected with a family doctor within a couple of weeks. There are posters in the ER waiting rooms.

ER Notes

Please complete your notes in a timely manner. Especially important if patients are admitted or a referral is placed β€” the rest of the team relies on your notes to inform further management.

MEOWS

FYI β€” some info attached on the MEOWS early warning alerts for pregnant / postpartum patients which is being implemented in the ED.
